Apartment!

We took an impromptu trip to NYC last week to pick out an apartment.

We literally decided the night before and arrived in NYC at 7am the next day.
After a full 12-hour day of walking around downtown Manhattan in the heat searching for the perfect place to live, we decided to go with the first one we saw : )
It is very close to Ty's work, which is a plus, and the brand new building elimiates fears of bedbugs and sketchy rapist types lingering around.

I have been spending way too much time and money figuring out how we are going to furnish and decorate.

I am even doing to DIY projects....yes ME.

Road Trip

Last Wednesday we packed up our car, said our goodbyes, and hit the road.
I was sad.
Call me pathetic, I don't care, but I have never lived out of state for longer than a summer and moving away not knowing when I'll be back is sad to me.
BUT I am excited for we have in store for us.
We split the trip up into three days.
First day we drove 12 hours and ended up in Grand Island, Nebraska.
Second day we only had to drive 8 hours and we got to spend the night in Chicago with our friends the Thompsons. Liz and I were friends in high school and it was great fun to catch up with her and her husband Judd.
Third day was the worst. 14 hours of driving ew!!! Luckily it was our last day and at 11pm we finally made it to our destination, Raleigh North Caroilna.
We will spend a few weeks here before heading up to NYC for good : )
