tmrw

We are leaving for NC tomorrow! Can't wait! We got a text from Ty's sister today who said our niece Ava is especially excited for us to arrive. Apparently she said:
"Ty and uncle Jayne are coming to my house!"
LOL. I'm such a good uncle.
Packing for an entire Summer is HARD! I don't mean to sound ungrateful, but I feel like the Pioneers crossing the plains. I have to pack all of my clothes and belongings into TWO suitcases! This is difficult seeing as how I have 18 pairs of shoes I want to take, and I can't seem to widdle it down.
An entire bag might have to be dedicated to this 'sole' purpose.
Hah sorry, I had to.
Is it weird that I feel bad for the clothes I have to leave behind? Like I am hurting their feelings. I also have this anxiety that I will get there and desperately want a shirt or skirt and realize it is at home. Terrifying, huh?
Good thing NYC has such great shopping!

Separated at Birth?

Multiple people have told us how much Ty looks like American Idol contestant Tim Urban. I agree! They could be twins. A love for singing and music is another similarity between these two ; ) I heard he was voted off the show last week. Better luck next time Timmy!

dis weekend

Ty and I spent the weekend in Salt Lake at my parentals house. On Saturday my mom tricked me into doing yard work by telling me we would go shopping afterward...False. Instead, we went to dinner and a movie with mom, dad, brother (John), sister-in-law (Ashley) , niece (Alli), and nephew (Tanner). It was so fun! I don't care what you say, I have the most darling niece and nephew in the world. They are so smiley, friendly, and just plain cute! We saw the movie How to Train Your Dragon. We usually aren't into cartoons and movies with dragons, but it was actually good! If you haven't seen it, I recommend it.

On Sunday we went to Miss Sarah Doxey's mission farewell. Sarah and the whole Doxey family are some of our dear friends. We owe Sarah the world....she introduced us! If it weren't for her, life as we know it wouldn't exist! She gave a beautiful farewell talk and we know she is going to serve wonderfully in California.

Sarah was one of my bridesmaids and is on the far right.
Not the best picture but since my comp crashed I have none!

Wedding Video!

The second part of our wedding video is finally done!!! We got married in August, so it's about time! David Perry was our videographer, he is amazing. Mucho thanks to him! The first part of the video was filmed at the temple, and this is the reception portion. As you can see...it was a cold night! It is the one thing I would change about my wedding day. It was beautiful, but as soon as the sun went down it was like...40 degrees...in the middle of August! Anyway, have a lookie...enjoy!

hope this works...

Dear beautiful spring weather we have been experiencing,

Please go away, NOW! I am so sick of you. I want cold, rain, snow... anything but you! Your sunshine and warmth have started to tan my skin, and the smell of flowers everywhere is just too much to take. The grass is green, the sky is blue, and tulips are in full bloom. Ew! Please, just leave and let us get back to the coldness and ugliness.

Thanks!

Temporarily Ours!

We finally found an apartment in New York for this summer! It has been the biggest hassle, lemme tell you. Ty wanted something as close to his work as possible, like across the street, since his hours are so long. That, plus the fact that we're only going to be there for 3.5 months made it a difficult find! Before I show you pics, might I remind you that this tiny little studio apt that we will be living in for only one summer is equivalent to the cost of living in a nice place in Provo for an entire year!

Ok, now you can see pics.
(don't mind the weird picture hanging above the bed)

We will be living on the 35th floor of an amazing high rise in the Financial District of Manhattan. It is within walking distance of Ty's work and a 20 minute subway ride away from mine.

If anyone wants to come visit, I'll put your name on the list for the blow-up mattress!
Come on, I know you want to!

Yay/Boo

I found this article and thought it was great. You rarely hear of this kind of thing anymore. You go girls!

Then I found this article and felt sad. It's just too bad. Hopefully he can shape up and come back to play!

Have you seen the show "To Catch a Predator" on Dateline? We watched it last night for a bit...Creepy!

killer party

Today we had a bridal shower for my sista! Here's the beaming bride-to-be herself...

The spread: homemade lemon cupcakes with fondant 'pearls', strawberry lemonade, and fruit with yogurt dip. It looked like it came right out of Martha Stewart Living. Excellent work ladies.

Jakie's cupcakes tasted just as good as they looked!

I only had one (plus 2!)

We blindfolded Maren and made her feel the legs, biceps, and hands of three guys. She had to guess which one was Logan. It was hilarious.

Fortunately she guessed correctly. She said the only way she knew was because Logan doesn't have hair on the back of his legs. HAH

So happy for Maren and Logan! They are getting married on August 25th in Salt Lake. They are so good for each other and make a fabulous little couple. It's going to be so fun helping to plan the wedding, although Maren would probably like it if I kept my opinions to myself! I just love weddings and wish I could have another one just for the planning... {sigh}

SHOPAHOLIC

I.have.issues. Major issues.
It started when I was a little girl.Whenever I see an article of clothing I want, I can't stop thinking about it. I think about what I would wear it with, how it would look on me, how perfect it is, how much it will add to my wardrobe. And then, I ALWAYS buy it.
This happens so often, it consumes me! It really is bad. Every time I go into a store, the fashion flood of colorful fabrics and patterns makes me feel like a hungry fat kid in a candy store. Wish I could say I was kidding.
Today It happened in Target. I wasn't even going there to buy clothes, I was planning on buying FRUIT, but as I innocently passed by the women's section, I lost my mind again.
The new Liberty of London collection is to die for.
Poor Ty. Poor, poor Ty. This is only beginning.

Sweet Carolina

Love North Carolina. Only been there once, last year when Ty took me back to meet the fam. We just booked our flights for May 1st. We'll be visiting the Baldwin clan (it's quite a large clan...15 nieces and nephews last time I counted). We are staying for 2 weeks and then we will fly up to NY for the rest of the summer. We are both very excited to be with Ty's fam, since we don't get to see them very often. NC is far away!

"Baldwinsville"
This is a couple years old--before Ty had his own colored t-shirt. Ador {able}!

Until May 1st...we'll be slaving away in Provo trying to finish school...finals are fast approaching!

P.S. We won our water polo game! : )
P.P.S. Then we lost two days later : (
Just in case you were dying to know.

THE project

Ty has been working like a crazy man for the past few weeks on this monster project. The project was for a competition in the business school, so he wasn't receiving a grade for it. He got together with 3 other friends and has worked on it about 4 nights a week from 10pm to 2am!!! They worked really hard. The incentive? The third place group got $250, second place got $500, and first place got $1000! Ty made it to the top 5 groups, so last night I went to watch him present the project for the last time. His group did such a great job! They definitely did the best out of all 5 teams. (not that I'm biased or anything). BUT unfortunately the judges didn't agree. The group didn't get in the top three, but they had an excellent project and I'm proud of Ty for even getting up there to present since he's been sick! He barely had a voice! Good job Ty!!!Look at my little business man go.

H20 Polo 2nite

Is it totally geeky that Ty and I play on a coed intramural inner tube water polo team? Probably. Well, we have a game tonight and we are so excited for it! It's playoff time...big deal! Ty has been playing on the Rubber Duckies team since his freshman year. He finally recruited me to join the team after mucho reluctance on my part. At first it was hard for me to admit, but I actually enjoy it! Right now in the tournament there are only 6 teams left. Believe it or not, there were more then 80 when we started! Such a BYU thing.
It's really fun, but sort of awkward looking. You actually sit in a tube and paddle yourself around, so you are like, half-wet. Unless you fall out of your tube, of course. Then you are all-the-way-wet. The best part of the games is watching people try to get back into their huge and slippery rubber tubes after falling out. I highly recommend stopping by the R.B. sometime and watching a game if you've never seen it! GO RUBBER DUCKIES!Here is a picture of Ty and some of his water polo teammates. I can't explain why they are bald, they don't look like this now.A picture of people I don't know playing inner tube polo. They actually look kind of cool, we aren't this legit and we don't wear those head things.

R.I.P...Again!!!

SO frustrated! Right now I am using Ty's laptop...a PC : ( ...becuase my Mac died! It crashed! I'm sad! Ok, I don't know fur SURE yet if it's really gone (we're taking it to the store today), but I have a pretty good idea considering this is the 2nd time it has happened!!! It happened two years ago and I lost EVERYTHING...pictures, music, documents...You name it! The worst part about losing it right now is that I spent 3 hours yesterday writing a 6 page paper on that computer.. and its due TODAY! Actually, I take that back, that is the second worst thing. The real worst thing about losing my computer for a second time is losing my pictures from BYU swimming, my wedding, honeymoon, my LIFE. It's all gone! What's a girl to do? Well, Ty says I should get rid of the Mac and get a "reliable" PC. He has had his laptop for like 10 years and has had zero problems. Ok, well... I'm a Mac snob and feel going to a PC would be a major downgrade. His computer looks like it's from the Stone Age. My computer was cute and white. At least I'm honest!

These ads about how Macs are cool and PCs are lame have obviously affected me.

Friends!

I just met Ty's best friends! Caught me off guard...they are the two workers at the Wendy's drive through in Provo. I wasn't aware of how often Ty eats at Wendy's until we pulled up at the window and he started talking to the woman who took our credit card like they were long lost pals. We then proceeded to the next window and he again surprised me by his conversation with the man who gave us our spicy chicken clubs. They were quite excited to see each other, so they took a minute to catch up. When we drove off Ty said, "Man, I love those guys." Blew me away. I guess I should start cooking more. Before I know it he'll be hanging out with the guys from Carl's Jr.

Finally!

For the past um...while, I have found myself going about my days blogging in my head. When something funny, boring, exciting, or interesting happens, I write blog posts in my head for my make believe blog that really doesn't exist. I think about my pretend posts and the fonts I would use, what pictures I would add, and how I would cleverly compose my words into blogosphere lingo.

Whenever something is on my mind for longer than 30 seconds, like blogging has recently been, I know that it is more than just one of the random flickerings going on in my head. I have held off creating this for so long because it is my worst nightmare to be a blogging failure: someone who never updates, or has an ugly boring blog. It is my hope that my new blog (and Tyler's too!) will provide some sort of something to someone!
