New York truly is a beautiful place, but just like all big cities there tend to be a lot of...well, bums. I usually don't quite know how to handle myself when approached my someone in need...though I wish I could help, I would go broke if I gave food or money to every person who asked for it on the street. Yesterday something happened that made me feel a little better about all the times I have denied needy people of my assistance. I came around a corner and saw a man who looked...well like a bum...and had a sign by his feet that said, "Handicapped, please help." Just as I was noticing how he didn't appear handicapped at all, he pulled his right arm through the sleeve of his shirt and held it against his chest. VOILA....missing a limb. Really? Really? How low it that?

ReplyDeletep.s. there are tons of bums in Chicago too! One of them sprayed and squeegeed my windshield yesterday as I was stopped at a red light.. Sorry sir, no change! Haha
